Episode 4: Don’t Let Social Media Consume Holiday Spirit

In this episode, as we enter the holiday season, I want to dig into the question, does social media encourage us to buy more things than we need? So, understanding the role of social media on overconsumption is essential for developing mindfulness and protecting our society and our planet from its pollution.

Holidays have been marketed to no end, causing shoppers to impulsively spend on unnecessary products and damage the environment through pollution. In my opinion, shopping and spending reasonably are ways to celebrate holidays with joy, but true “holiday joy” should not lead to environmental degradation! Meaningful connection with family and friends is more important than what gifts are bought for them or how much money is spent. “Happy holidays and Season’s greetings to everyone.”
